Description
Tele Vue Focal Reducer 0.8x for NP ScopesÂ
In astronomy, a reducer is used to reduce the effective focal length of a telescope, which increases the field of view and provides faster imaging time on objects such as galaxies and nebulae. This Tele Vue 0.8x reducer is designed for the NP-type imaging system telescopes, NP127is and NP101is. This reducer minimizes vignetting and supports camera sensors up to 43 mm diagonal (full frame). The NPR-2073 reducer replaces the discontinued NPR-1073 reducer, which only supported up to APS-C sized sensors.
This reducer requires the Tele Vue Imaging System insert to attach to the drawtube and Imaging System rings in order to attach a camera and other accessories. The NPR-2073 is threaded on both sides for the Tele Vue Imaging System and attaches on one side to the Imaging Insert included with the NP127is or NP101is telescopes. The other side can accept any of the spacers, camera adapters, and thread converters included in the Tele Vue Imaging System.
In addition to the NP127is and NP101is telescopes, this reducer can be used to enlarge the field of other Tele Vue Petzval scopes but will not provide additional correction for these models. When used with any Petzval-type telescope, the NPR-2073 will reduce the focal length of the telescope by 20%, increasing the field of view by 25%.
